Living Better with Chronic Disease: A Community Education Conference is back!
On June 14, 2012, The Monmouth Cancer Coalition, in conjunction with CentraState Medical Center, will sponsor "Living Better with Chronic Disease" a community education conference for individuals and caregivers who are dealing with serious chronic illness. Back by popular demand, "Living Better with Chronic Disease" is the second annual conference on this subject, the first held at CentraState Medical on May 20, 2011. This year, our keynote speaker will be Kenneth W. Faistl MD, with 37 years of experience in geriatrics and family practice.

The Monmouth Cancer Coalition Presents: Chemo Girl's Day Out
As part of National Breast Cancer Month, on October 27, 2011, the Monmouth Cancer Coalition presented "Chemo Girls' Day Out," a morning of food, fun and healing for women currently living with cancer and the side effects of treatment.

The Monmouth Cancer Coalition Presents: Free Oral Cancer Screening in Monmouth County
The Monmouth Cancer Coalition sponsored its fifth annual oral cancer screening event to raise awareness about risks of oral cancer and reduce mortality from the disease. FREE oral cancer screening exams were available throughout Monmouth County on April 26, 2012 at a variety of venues including senior centers, residential treatment centers, hospitals, clinics and family practices. Palliative Care in the Community
The Coalition's own Theresa L. Beck spoke at the quarterly meeting of the New Jersey CEED Program Coordinators in North Brunswick. Her presentation entitled "Palliative Care in the Community" focused on the need for health care professionals to better understand the full array of palliative care services and to raise awareness in the general community.
Score for the Cure: First Annual Hockey Game for Breast Cancer Research and Awareness
Thanks to all who joined the Monmouth Cancer Coalition, the Ocean County Cancer Coalition, and Susan G. Komen for Score for the Cure on October 10, 2010 at the Gold Coast Arena, for a fun-filled afternoon which featured a benefit ice hockey game, silent auction, autographed memorabilia, door prizes, and more.
