NJ LINCS Provides Local Social Services Information
New Jersey's Local Information Network and Communication System. LINCS is a statewide interactive electronic public health information system that joins together local, state, and federal health agencies. The system is an extension of the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) initiative known as th Health Alert Network (HAN). The Monmouth County Health Department is part of the statewide system and routinely transmits its health alerts and public health information electronically to over 2,200 community stakeholders. The department is one of 22 designated LINCS agencies in NJ responsible for overseeing and coordinating countywide access to and use of public health information.
In 2008, the Monmouth Cancer Coalition began a series of professional messages aimed at addressing the need for cancer prevention and early detection. These messages are sent to over 800 Monmouth County physicians and health professionals through the LINCS listserv.
