The Financial Burden of Cancer Study

The Financial Burden of Cancer - Have you (as a patient or caregiver) experienced financial concerns or burden because of cancer? An opportunity to participate in a research study... The Wellness Community of Philadelphia is participating in a study to evaluate the Challenges and Barriers to Accessing Financial Support for Cancer Treatment. The purpose of the study is to understand the impact of the cost of cancer care as well as to better understand barriers to the use of patient prescription assistance programs from patient and caregiver perspectives. We are seeking patients and caregivers who have experienced financial burden or have had difficulty accessing medical care for financial or insurance reasons who are interested in sharing their experiences, perspectives, and concerns. We invite patients and caregivers to volunteer for this study by participating in a focus group or an interview. Volunteers will be compensated for their participation. Patient focus group is scheduled to meet on Monday, 10/5/09 from 11:30 AM - 1:30 PM (lunch will be served). Interviews will be individually scheduled at a time convenient to participants.
