Radon and lung cancer awareness: Radon Tee World Trek 2010

The NJDEP-Radon Program will be hosting Radon Tee: World Trek 2010 on July 27,2010 through August 9,2010. Radon Tee is a specially designed t-shirt that is traveling around the country to promote radon awareness. The goal is to increase the number of homes tested for radon with the result of increasing the number oflives saved from radon-induced lung cancer.
If you would like to participate and plan an event with Radon Tee, or if you have tourist attractions or historic landmarks in your county or municipality that would be appropriate for radon outreach with Radon Tee, please contact Linda Jordan (Outreach Coordinator) at (609) 984-5434.
The project harnesses the power of social media by posting photos and videos of ordinary people appearing with Radon Tee. As Radon Tee treks around the world, social content is posted to its Facebook and Twitter profiles, where its fans can see others who support radon awareness and learn about the importance of testing their own home for radon. For New Jersey participants, reimbursement of up to $1000 for the purchase of radon test kits through our Radon Awareness Program (RAP) for distribution at Radon-Tee events is also available on a first-come-first-serve basis.
