Healing Hearts Free Weekend Camp

CancerCare of New Jersey is pleased to announce that we will again sponsor Healing Hearts free weekend bereavement camp. The program will take place Friday June 11, through Sunday June 13, 2010 at
The weekend is offered free to all families who have lost a child, sibling, parent or grandparent to cancer within the last two to three years. A maximum of 20 families will be accepted on a first come, first served basis. All families will be assessed by a CancerCare social worker to determine if the camp will be appropriate for their needs. Activities will be geared toward children ages 5 through 17. The camp will offer regular summer camp activities such as swimming, boating, rock climbing as well as grief activities facilitated by CancerCare social workers. The weekend will give families an opportunity to enjoy each other, share experiences with other families while providing both fun and healing activities.
If you have any families that you feel may be interested in participating in this weekend of hope and healing, please make them aware of this opportunity. Please post these brochures in common areas and feel free to make copies. If you would like more brochures mailed to you, please let us know. Feel free to contact us for additional information. The weekend is completely free to families who qualify and is funded through a generous grant from Celgene.
